Boats

To watch boat races are spectacular due to the size of the boats and sometimes insignificant human power used to control them.

There are a number of races that require sometimes up to 8 members in one race. To watch or compete in IRB racing is spectacular especially when the crews are negotiating the surf.
Swimming
One skill all lifesavers should have is the ability to swim. Surf swimming has included some of our greatest Olympic swimmers including Steve Holland and Grant Hackett etc. Anyone getting involved in Surf Lifesaving will be required to swim, so to test this in competition is an ideal way to increase surf swimming ability.
